View of the main dome in the Shah’s Mosque, also known as the Sheikh Loftallah Mosque, Isfahan. The dome of the mosque was designed to reflect sunlight pouring in through the windows throughout the day, resulting in its affectionate nickname, “the Peacock Dome,” from its light radial emanating from the center of the dome.
